At Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, we strive to help people in our community and beyond when they feel they’ve fallen victim to a defective product. We understand how devastating it can be when you learn that a medication you thought you were safe taking has been recalled for containing probable human carcinogens. If you or a loved one have been taking products containing Ranitidine and, as a result, have developed cancer, we want to help you.

During Black History Month, we want to recognize those African American leaders that have shaped our lives as we know it today.  One significant invention was that of the traffic light, which plays an important role in our safety today.

The world’s first traffic signal was installed in London in December 1868. This traffic light was a manually operated gas-lit signal. These traffic signals were not that effective since they switched back and forth between Stop and Go with no interval in between. Because of this, drivers had no time to react when the signal changed, causing many collisions between vehicles.

“In Louisiana, 773,850 people are struggling with hunger- and of them 255,640 are children.” We at Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys believe it is our responsibility and privilege to help those in need. In 2019 we started our first "Penny" Drive" initiative to raise funds for the food banks throughout the state of Louisiana. With the help of our team members and the community, we were able to raise over $1,500.

The case of the plaintiff, Edwin Hardeman, went to trial in February 2019, in a San Francisco courtroom.  Mr. Hardeman’s case is the first of many cases involving plaintiffs claiming the widely-used weedkiller, Roundup®, developed by Monsanto (purchased by Bayer in 2016) causes non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, and other types of cancer. The jury selected at Mr. Hardeman’s trial was asked to weigh a complicated question.  Did the weedkiller, Roundup®, and its main ingredient, glyphosate, caused his cancer?

At Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, we have protected your legal rights, and we wanted to make sure that you are aware of issues in the governor’s race that involve constitutional protections.  So, why is this important now?  Eddie Rispone is calling for a constitutional convention that would put essential rights and protections on the table.

As early voting is upon us, please consider re-electing Governor Edwards. Early voting begins Saturday, November 2 through Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM (no voting on Sunday, November 3). The runoff election will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

Governor Edwards was a state representative before serving as governor and worked as an attorney in his hometown of Amite, Louisiana. Amite is where he and his high school sweetheart, Donna, raised their three children. Before attending LSU Law School, Governor Edwards graduated Dean's List from the Military Academy at West Point and served as an Army Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer for eight years.
